Refund policy

Effective Date: 24.10.2025

1. Perishable Goods

All our food products (including jams, chutneys, marmalades, sauces, and any similar items) are perishable and made in small batches.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the standard 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to perishable goods for health and hygiene reasons.

Therefore, we are unable to accept returns or cancellations once food items have been dispatched, unless the goods are:

  • damaged on arrival,
  • faulty,
  • or the wrong item has been sent.

2. Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at sales@homecrafts-preserves.com, including:

  • your order number,
  • a description of the issue, and
  • clear photos showing the problem (e.g. broken jar, leaking seal, incorrect item).

Once verified, we will offer you the choice of:

  • a replacement, or
  • a full refund (including delivery costs, where applicable).

We may ask you to return the affected product(s) for inspection. If a return is required, we will provide a pre-paid return label and instructions.

3. Non-Perishable or Non-Food Items

If you have purchased a non-food item (e.g. gift boxes, utensils, packaging, or merchandise), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it.

To exercise this right, please contact us at sales@homecrafts-preserves.com within 14 days of receipt. You must then return the unused item(s) to us within a further 14 days, at your own cost.

Returned items must be unused, unopened, and in their original condition. Once received and inspected, we will process a refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back.

4. How Refunds Are Processed

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.

Please allow up to 5–10 working days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider.

We will notify you by email once your refund has been processed.

5. Cancelling Orders Before Dispatch

If you wish to cancel your order before it has been dispatched, please contact us immediately at sales@homecrafts-preserves.com.

If your order has not yet been prepared or shipped, we will cancel and issue a full refund.

If your order has already been dispatched, the cancellation and refund terms above will apply.

6. Exchanges

We are unable to offer direct exchanges on food items for safety reasons.

If you wish to receive a different product, please place a new order through our online store once your refund has been processed.

7. Our Quality Commitment

All Homecrafts Preserves products are prepared in accordance with UK food hygiene regulations. If you are unhappy with the quality of your purchase for any reason, please contact us, we’ll do our best to make it right!
